A Calm Day – Lake, Birds, Mountains
Those are mostly Red-crested Pochards (netta rufina – Kolbenente) always gathering at the same place on the Lake of the four Cantons (Vierwaldstättersee) in Lucerne, Switzerland. This is their wintering place and soon they will leave again. This short video was taken on a beautiful spring-like afternoon on March 2nd, 2012.

Thank you for the wonderful trip back to Lucerne Natalie. Not only did I enjoy the beautiful snow covered mountains and the lake, hearing the little girl speaking the dialect brought back memories of my visit there.
