Update on the “Bahama Tourist”

The White-cheeked Pintail I blogged about found a companion. They were still in Lucerne, Switzerland but the Anas bahamensis normally lives in Middle and South America. Since both ducks are not ringed it will be hard to know where they come from. I would still guess that they were released somewhere.

There are only little differences in the male and the female. The male in the first photo in the back is a little bit bigger and has a longer tail. But as you can see in the third photo, their heads are almost the same. I couldn’t figure out if both have the green spot that the male shows in the fourth photo.

  1. What lovely looking visitors 🙂 The shot with the swan in the photo is a gem, too!
