White-Throated Dipper

Morning luck got me a better photo of the White-Throated Dipper (cinclus cinclus – Wasseramsel) for my photo bird list.

They are already nesting under a bridge over the river Limmat here in Zürich, Switzerland.

  1. Have never seen a white throated dipper. It looks like a characterful bird.

    • Thanks Lucy. Yes, they are great. It’s the only songbird (I think) that “swims” and goes under water to pick insects. Very interesting to watch!

  2. Wonderful, simply wonderful!
