Eurasian Collared-Dove – Streptopelia decaocto

On the Talkin’ Birds-Show from end of June 2010, Ray Brown had the Eurasian Collared-Dove Streptopelia decaocto (Türkentaube), as the Featured Feathered Friend. Since I just saw one the other day from the balcony, I’d like to show you some pictures. The ones in flight are from last week. The nest photos are from May 2007 and this nest was on a not-to-high tree in the middle of Zurich, Switzerland. The last one is taken in Southern France.

  1. That’s a very interesting series of photos. I especially like the close-ups of the birds on the nest.

    • Thank you Mick. They had their nest in a tree that had still the Christmas Lights around it. That was very special.
